Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving is now over, but the question still remains. What are you thankful for?

God has taught me so much in the past month. He's taught me how to surrender what I want so I can completely yield myself to Him and let Him shape me into the woman He planned for me to be. He showed me that one of his greatest mercies to me, even though it may be severe, was to save me from myself.
One of my favorite songs from The Turning, "Out Of My Hands" says it perfectly:

Everything I held is out of my hands
Everything you bless is not what I’d planned

Not what I’d seen, not what I’d dreamed

And all the things I held
Were dragging my heart so far down

And the things I’d dreamed were nothing,
Nothing as they’d seemed

And then I question you
And doubt you as the God I know
But all over again, you saved me from myself

He's teaching me how to give up everything else I put my hope in, so I can hope in the only One who can wholly fulfill my needs and desires. The One who gave it all away so that I can have complete joy, joy that lasts. The One who knows every corner of my heart, because He created it. He loves me and wants all of my heart.

God showed me that even in the midst of pain, if I seek Him, He fills my heart with an unsurpassable, unexplainable joy. He wants me to surrender my will and trust His. He loves me, and I am in love with Him like never before.
And I am truly happy.

My 21 balloons!

The birthday girls.

My birthday party had the coolest decorations, including crepe paper hung randomly without order and hanging man balloons. It was the boys' idea... :o)

I wonder, if you kiss a lizard will he turn into a prince? Maybe a really big prince...?

Grandpa meets ipod.

Ipod must be good. It plays Glenn Miller. Ahhhh...

*Sniff sniff* My little Aubrie's growing up...
It's amazing what God can teach us during hard and troubling times. I'm proud of you, Aubrie.
The picture of your grandpa with the iPod is hilarious! He's keeping up with the high-tech times...
love, Lizzie (Sam)

I say time to update. I have absolutely nothing to do at work these days and the six blogs I am actually aware of are one of the only things that keep me going (Lizzie, you're due for an update too).
